After you manually enter your hours or clock in and out, you can submit these hours for approval.

📎NOTE: An admin or manager processing timesheets for an employee can have access to approve the timesheets immediately without the need to submit them.

  1. On the main menu, click Timesheets (or on the main menu click My profile, then Timesheets).

📌TIP: If you're an admin or manager doing this for an employee, click Timesheets on the main menu, then select the relevant employee to see their timesheets. Alternatively, go to their profile and click Timesheets.

  2. Click Submit.

    Timesheets page.

  3. It will tell you the total hours you've worked, and if you've worked overtime, what your total amount of overtime hours is

If you worked overtime, depending on your company's overtime settings, you may have the choice to split your overtime between Pay out or Give to [time off policy name], which is effectively Time Owed In Lieu (TOIL). An admin or timesheet administrator chooses which time off policy this is from within the timesheet settings.

📎NOTE: Depending on the company's Sage HR settings track overtime, you may see the hours split into days with multiple overtime categories listed. If you want to assign some overtime as TOIL, it's your choice from which overtime category you want to take this TOIL from.

  4. Click Submit.

Your timesheet approver receives a notification about your timesheet and will need to approve it. You can see who your timesheet approvers are at the top of the page.

📌TIP: You can cancel your submitted hours at any time before an administrator or timesheet group manager approves it - Click Cancel, then CANCEL again.

You can check the status of the timesheet next to the Submit or Cancel button. It will say one of three things:

  • Unsubmitted

  • Awaiting approval

  • Approved
