Time off approvers are who approve time off requests made by other employees. You can specify who you want to be a time off approver for a specific employee.

For example, you can select an employee's time off approver to be whoever is their direct manager.

You can edit the time off approver for just one employee or you can select multiple employees and edit their time approver at the same time.

  1. Click your name in the top right, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu click Time off, then click Time off approvers.

  3. Under ‘Actions’ click on the pencil icon on the same line as the employee.

📌TIP: If you want to amend multiple employees' time off approvers at the same time, you can select them, then click Change time off approvers. The time off approvers you assign then apply to those selected employees.

  4. Select who you want to be the employee's time off approver.

    Your options are:

    • Administrators

    • Direct manager of the employee

    • Team manager of the employee

    • Individual approvers

To have a specific person approve time off requests for an employee, click on the blank space underneath Individual approvers. Either scroll down and select the person, or type their name.

This means that person, regardless of their role, can approve that employee's time off.

  5. If you don’t want the employee to have their time off requests automatically approved, leave this option clear.

  6. Click Save.

These time off approvers receive an email of each request and can approve or decline them.

📎NOTE: Team managers and Administrators, even if they're not approvers, can still edit time off requests.

📌TIP: You can export a list of your employees and who their time off approvers are. Click Export.
