With the summer holidays coming to an end, there may be upcoming tasks for you, such as dealing with summer staff leaving once their summer contracts have ended. Keeping this in mind, this month's newsletter provides a reminder of how to offboard employees in Sage HR.

We also have some useful advice on how to easily make amendments to multiple employees using the mass editing tool, as well as how to set up your time off settings so that your staff can select people to cover their responsibilities whilst they're on annual leave.

Let's take a look at these below.

Offboarding employees

If you've hired temporary staff over the summer holidays, the end of their contracts may be coming soon. As a result, you should get prepared so you're ready for their offboarding.

If you haven't offboarded anyone on in Sage HR in a while, you can use our guide which provides an overview of the offboarding process.

Edit multiple employees easily

Making changes to employees' profiles can be time-consuming when you're amending employees one by one, especially if you're doing so for multiple people.

The mass editing tool can save you a lot of time and effort allowing you to make amendments to multiple employees from a single page. Whether this is for making mass amendments to personal details, changing employment statuses, assigning different direct managers, and so much more!

You can see this tool in action in our video below.

Replacements persons

When someone takes time off, it's often required that someone is ready to cover their tasks and workload whilst they're away.

In Sage HR you can configure your time off settings so that when employees request time off, they can select who their replacement person is. You can make this optional or even mandatory if some employees need to ensure that their responsibilities are covered when they're away.

This is very useful, for example, if you want to ensure employees always have someone available to approve their time off requests when their usual approver is on holiday.
