📎NOTE: This guide is for users who use Sage HR Essentials. If you use the Leave Management module, use our alternative time off approvers guide.

You may have certain employees that you want to approve time off requests. They can do this in Sage HR if they are a time off approver.

  1. As an admin, click your name in the top right, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu click Time off, then click Time off approvers.

Time off approver options

In your time off approvers settings is a list of all your employees and their time off approvers. The time off approvers show options in two columns:

Admins

By default everyone has Admins set to Yes. This means that all administrator-level users will receive time off request approvals from an employee. You can edit the employee to have Admins set to No.

📎NOTE: Administrators, even if they aren't approvers, are still able to edit requests.

Direct manager

By default, Direct managers are set to No.

Direct managers are based on who is set as a direct manager in an employee's profile. You can edit the employee to have Direct manager set to Yes.
