I can't log in to the Sage HR app

What to check if you're having issues logging in to the Sage HR mobile app.

If you can't log in to the Sage HR mobile app, this can be due to the following reasons:

  • The company you're trying to access doesn't use Sage HR - For example, they may use Sage Employee Online Services instead, which is accessed via www.sagepayrollservices.co.uk

  • You haven't created a login yet from your welcome email

  • You're using the wrong email address

  • You're entering an incorrect password

  • Your profile has been terminated by an admin user

  • Your profile has been deleted by an admin user

  • Your login access has been disabled by an admin user

  • You've entered the wrong workspace

To find out why you can't log in, let's run through some checks in the section below.

📌TIP: If you're prompted to enter a PIN or passcode at any point to 'verify your identity', this means the code you use to unlock your phone.


1 - Are you trying to log in to a company as an ex-employee?

Yes, I'm an ex-employee

If you have left the company you're trying to log in to, your employer will have terminated your profile. Terminated employees can't log in on the mobile app.

Depending on your employer's company settings and software integration, you might still be able to log in to the Sage HR web portal.

If you can't log in to the web portal and there's something you require access to urgently, for example, old payslips, your employer can provide these to you in other ways.

2 - Try to log in to the Sage HR web portal

First, we need to know if the problem is just related to the mobile app or your login details in general.

To check this, try to log in to the Sage HR web portal instead of the mobile app.

Can you log in to the web portal?

Yes

Okay, let's move on to the next check.

No

If you're unable to log in to the website version of Sage HR, please run through our troubleshooting steps outlined in our other troubleshooting guide below.


3 - Check your workspace

If you're prompted to enter a 'Workspace' on the mobile app, entering the wrong domain can cause a login error.

This is the bit before .sage.hr in your company's Sage HR URL.

EXAMPLE: https://smithcafe.sage.hr.

Are you asked to enter a Workspace?

Yes

Check what your workspace is. If you're unsure, it's easy to check or your employer can tell you.

No

If you're not asked for a workspace, move on to the next check.


4 - Check you entered the correct email address

Check you typed in your email correctly in the mobile app.

If the email address has been entered correctly and is the exact email address that received a welcome email, move on to the next check.

If you're unsure what email address you're supposed to use or you've never had a welcome email, contact your employer.


5 - Check you entered the correct password

Check you've typed in your password correctly in the mobile app.

If your password has auto-populated, enter your password manually. Your phone may have saved an incorrect password.


Still can't log in?

If you've run through all the checks above, and you still can't log in on the Sage HR app, you must contact your employer.

As an admin user of the software with access to settings, they can investigate this for you and they can contact Sage HR support directly.

Please let them know whether you can or can't log in on the website version of Sage HR, as they'll be asked this if they contact Sage HR support.
