Edit employee details using mass editing

Use mass editing in Sage HR to update multiple employee records from one page. Select fields, then edit individual or multiple employees quickly.

Use mass editing to view and update employee details from one page. This helps you manage employee data quickly and consistently.

Go to mass editing

  1. Click your name in the top right.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Employee data.

  4. Click Mass editing.


Choose fields to display

Select the fields you want to view and edit. Only selected fields appear in the table.

  1. Click Customise table.

  2. Select the fields you want to use.

  3. Scroll down, then click Save.

Selecting more fields reduces the number of employees shown per page.

You can display and edit:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Date of birth

  • Personal email

  • Home phone

  • Work phone

  • Mobile phone

  • Position

  • Employment start date

  • Employment status

  • Direct manager

  • Team

  • Job category

  • Location

  • Street 1

  • Street 2

  • City

  • State

  • Postcode

  • Nationality

  • Gender

  • Marital status

  • Driving licence

  • Employee

  • LinkedIn

  • Email notifications enabled

  • Self-service enabled

You can also view custom fields.


Edit one employee

  1. Select the dropdown for the field you want to change.

  2. Choose the new value.

  3. Click Save under the field.

Save each change before moving to another row.


Edit multiple employees

Use this option when all selected employees need the same update.

  1. Select the employees you want to edit.

  2. Click Update selected employees.

  3. Choose the field you want to change.

  4. Select the new value.

  5. Click Save.
