A work zone is a location radius set by your employer. When an admin creates and assigns you to a work zone, you're prompted to share your location with Sage HR. This allows your employer to know whether you were within your assigned work zone when you clock in or out for work when using the Sage HR mobile app.
How do I share my location?
Log in to the Sage HR app.
Tap Workspace, then My profile.
Tap Work zones.
Tap the toggle next to Share location with Sage HR
Tap the option to allow access while using the app.
In the app you can see details such as whether you can't clock in outside of your work zone. You can also see your work zone(s). You can be assigned to more than one work zone.
What happens when I share my location?
This depends on how your employer has set up their work zone. You'll either be prevented from clocking in when you aren't within their work zone, or your employer will be notified if you clock in outside of this work zone.
Will my employer or Sage be able to track where I am?
No, this doesn't allow your employer or Sage to track where you are at all times. This is only for your employer to be able to tell whether you were within or outside a specific area when you clock in or out for work on the Sage HR mobile app.
Do I have to have to do this?
If this is enabled this means your employer wants proof that their employees are in a designated work area when they clock in and out for work.
Whilst you're assigned to a work zone, if you don't allow sharing your location on the Sage HR mobile app, then you won't be able to clock in or out.
If don't want to allow sharing your location then this is a conversation you must have with your employer.
What information will Sage HR store?
Sage HR only tracks whether you are in or outside your designated work zone area as you clock in when using the Sage HR mobile app.
