These steps are for Sage HR companies not integrated with payroll software, that have Sage accounts enabled within your Sage accounts and two-factor authentication settings.
If you don't have Sage accounts enabled, follow the steps in our other guide below.
If you need to change an email address to a new address, this can be done in their Sage HR employee profile.
Go to their employee profile.
On the profile menu, click Employee.
Under Work email, click Change email address.
📎NOTE: If the email address option is greyed out with a lock symbol, this means either you don't have permission, or you use Sage HR integrated with Sage 50 Payroll (UK).
Employee never activated their login
If the employee never activated their login by creating a Sage account and signing into Sage HR:
Enter the new email address.
Select Send welcome email if you want the employee to receive a new invitation to access Sage HR.
Select Save changes.
The employee then sets up their new login from their welcome email.

📎NOTE: Be aware that if the employee has used the same email address for other Sage HR companies, these steps may change their email address they use to log in those other Sage HR companies too. If the employe doesn't want it to affect their other companies, you will need to delete the employee and re-add them.
If the employee has activated their login by signing into Sage HR, you have two options:
Send instructions via email
This option sends an email directly to the employee with the steps they need to follow to change their email address
Copy link to instructions
This copies a link to https://account.sso.sage.com.
Tell the employee to log in there and the follow the steps in the guide below to change their email address.
Once done, it will update their Sage account email address, which updates in the Sage HR company too.
