The bank holiday will fall on Monday 8 May 2023, following the Coronation on Saturday 6 May.

If your employees would usually work bank holidays, but your company is going to be closed to allow employees the day off, you can create a one-off time off policy for this event.

  1. Click your name on the top right, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu click Time off, then click Policies.

  3. Click Add new policy.

  4. Give the policy a name.

  5. Enter a description.

  6. Allocate 1 day once.

  7. Select Calendar settings.

  8. Enter the relevant default hours.

  9. Leave Count weekends as workdays and Count public holidays as workdays clear.

  10. Select for Unused time to not carry over.

  11. Under Conditions, leave clear Allow employee to request time off from this policy.

This means only admins and managers can request this one-time day off on behalf of employees.

  12. If you want to make adding this day off easier, under Workflow select Automatically approve these requests.

This means when you add time off using this policy, time and effort doesn't need to be spent approving each employee's request.

  13. Click Create.

You can now add time off for multiple employees using this new time off policy - Read more >

📎NOTE: If an employee is already booked off work on 6 May with another time off policy, you can add a day to their time off balance of their main time off policy so they get the extra day owed.
