If your employee has been added to a performance group, if required you can add a goal for them to keep track of your progress on things they are looking to achieve as part of their role.
It's easy to create a goal for an employee via Goals in the main menu. We'll show you how.
📎NOTE: Depending on how the Goals module was set up, Goals may be referred to as an OKR in your Sage HR, so any reference to the term 'goal' you can substitute with OKR.
Click Goals on the main menu.
Select the My employee goals tab at the top, then click Add goal.
📌TIP: You can also click Add goal from other goals tabs too.
A Create a new goal window appears. This window is the same no matter which tab you added a goal from.
Step 1 - Choose your goal
Click the Personal goals tile.
📎NOTE: The other tiles that show depend on your role in Sage HR.
Step 2 - Apply goal settings
A new Create a goal for your employee window appears.
📌TIP: To go back to Step 1, click Back at the bottom.
Enter a name for your employee's goal.
If required, enter a description.
If required, you can link this goal to another existing team goal or company goal.
Select a Review date, for example Q2 - 2022.
If you want to, you can choose to repeat the goal. When you click on the slider more options appear, where you can select a frequency, and how many times it repeats.
Select your goal visibility, which controls who can see this goal.
You can either:
Make it public so can be seen by everyone in the company.
Make it private so can only be seen to you and your manager
If you select Private, you can click Add viewers to allow specific people to be able to view this goal.
If you want to notify the employee about this goal, when its created select Notify employee by email.
When you're finished click Continue to progress to your Metrics and Sharing options.
Step 3 - Metrics and sharing options
In this window, you can add Key results and initiatives
📌TIP: To go back to Step 2, click Back at the bottom.
Add key results
Name the key result.
If required you can include a target range to track progress towards the goal completion.
Here you can enter a start and end amount, as well as target.
If you want to add an additional key result, click Add key result.
Add initiative
If required, you can add an initiative to show the actions they need to take to achieve this goal.
Name the initiative.
If you want to add an additional initiative, click Add initiative.
Once you're done with Step 3 click Assign to an employee then select the relevant employee(s).
When ready, click Create Goal.
The goal appears in your All goals tab
📌TIP: You can use the dropdown filter to help narrow down the goal you are looking for.
If you are the direct manager of the employee, they also show in your My employee goals tab.

Next steps
When you click on the goal it opens up the Goals page in your employee's profile.
The goal status shows as Active.
You can add more key results and initiatives at any time, as well as update their progress and complete their goal.
