If you want employees to be able to have their time off requests automatically approved, or you find this is already happening and you want to turn this feature off, this is easy to configure.

There are two places to configure whether an employee can automatically approve their own time off:

  • Time off approver settings - If you enable automatically approve time off requests here, this applies to all policies assigned to the employee

  • Time off policy settings - If you enable automatically approve time off requests here, this applies to just this policy, unless configured in time off approvers settings

Time off approver settings

  1. Click your name on the top right, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu click Time off approvers.

  3. Click the pencil icon alongside the relevant employee.

  4. Select or deselect Automatically approve time off requests.

  5. Click Save.

Time off policy settings

  1. Click your name on the top right, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu click Time off, then click Policies.

  3. Scroll down to Workflow, and click the dropdown arrow.

  4. Select or deselect Automatically approve these requests.

  5. Click Save.

📎NOTE: If a team manager is an employee's time off approver, they do still get a notification about the employee's time off. They won't be asked to approve it, it's just for awareness.
