Save doesn’t respond when editing a time off policy

In Sage HR, Save may not respond when you edit a time off policy or assign an employee to one. Check the policy settings to resolve this.

When you edit a time off policy or assign an employee through Eligibility, selecting Save may not respond.

The window remains open and Sage HR doesn’t save your changes or the employee assignment.

An invalid value in the policy settings can prevent you from saving.

Check the Limit allowance to be taken in blocks setting

If you enable Limit allowance to be taken in blocks, the number of blocks must be greater than zero.

  1. Select your name in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Time off, then Policies.

  4. Select Settings on the affected policy.

  5. Expand Conditions.

  6. Find Limit allowance to be taken in blocks.

  7. Enter a value of 1 or higher, or disable the setting.

  8. Select Save.

📎 NOTE: A value of zero prevents you from saving the policy or assigning employees to it.

Check the other policy settings

If Save still doesn’t respond, check the other settings for invalid or missing values.

  1. Select Settings on the affected policy.

  2. Check General, Conditions, Allowance, Workflow, and Additional fields.

  3. Look for an empty or zero value where the policy requires a value.

  4. Correct the value, then select Save.

📌 TIP: A red line or highlighted field can help you identify the setting you need to correct.

If Save still doesn’t respond

Try editing the policy as another user or on a different device.

If Save works, the problem may relate to your device or user environment.
