ERROR: 'Overtime policy limit reached'

What to do when you see this error and can't create any more overtime policies in Sage HR.

Written by Oliver Cook

When you try to create a new overtime policy, you may see the error: When you create a new overtime policy, you may see the error Overtime policy limit reached.

Overtime policy limit reached

This error appears when you have reached the maximum number of overtime policies. Sage HR allows one default policy and up to 19 additional overtime policies.

Some customers may have more than 20 overtime policies because of historical data migration when Sage HR introduced the overtime policy feature. These policies continue to work, but you can't create new overtime policies until you reduce the total below 20.

  1. Review your existing overtime policies.

  2. Delete any overtime policies you no longer need.

  3. Create the new overtime policy again once you have fewer than 20 overtime policies.

Review your existing overtime policies and delete any policies that you no longer need. Once you have fewer than 20 overtime policies, you will be able to create new ones.

📎NOTE: If your company has more than 20 overtime policies due to a previous data migration, the existing policies continue to work normally. You must reduce the total to fewer than 20 before you can create new policies.
