Change an employee’s termination date

Update an employee’s termination date in Sage HR. This helps correct errors or reflect changes to their leaving date.

Written by Oliver Cook

When you terminate an employee, you set a termination date. This is their last working day.

The system removes the employee from the active directory the next day. You can then only view them in the terminated employees report.

If you enter the wrong date or plans change, you can update the termination date.

Change a termination date

  1. Select Reports.

  2. Select Employee data.

  3. Select Terminated employees.

  4. Find the employee.

  5. Click the pencil icon next to their name.

  6. Update the termination date.

  7. Add a reason or comments if needed.

  8. Click Save.

Important information

  • You can update a termination date at any time

  • If the employee no longer leaves, follow the process to undo the termination
