ERROR: 'Individual event (workday or blackout day) is already happening for at least one member of the selected holiday group on the provided date'

How to resolve this error so you can add a public holiday or create a blackout date in Sage HR.

Sage HR shows an error if a public holiday or blackout date overlaps with an existing calendar event for any selected employee.

Individual event (workday or blackout day) is already happening for at least one member of the selected holiday group on the provided date.

This error appears because a public holiday or blackout date already exists on that date for one or more selected employees.

Resolve the conflict

  1. Check which public holiday or blackout date already exists on that day.

  2. Decide which event you want to keep.

  3. Remove or update the existing event for the affected employee or holiday group.

  4. Add the new public holiday or blackout date again.

Example

If a public holiday exists on that date, remove it from the employee’s public holiday group before adding a blackout date.

You can then add the blackout date without errors.
