Error: 'Cannot add time off because of existing shifts'

How to resolve this error message when submitting a time off request in Sage HR.

When someone submits a time off request, they may see the following error.

There was an error

Can not add time off because of existing shifts

This occurs because there is already a shift scheduled during the dates selected, and the Shift Scheduling rules are set to not allow booking time off for that time off policy.

To resolve a user with relevant permissions will either need to reassign the shift or amend the shift scheduling settings.
