If an employee is going to be off work for a long period of time, you can set them to show as on long-term leave.

📌TIP: Even though there is a maternity and paternity leave option for long-term leave, we recommend to create and use a parental leave policy for maternity or paternity leave.

  1. Go to the employee's profile, then click the Time off tab

  2. Under Time off summary, click Set long-term leave.

  3. Select the reason.

  4. Enter a start date and end date for the leave.

  5. Select, if any, which policies you want to stop accruing during this long-term leave.

  6. If required, enter additional comments.

  7. Click Save.

When you view the Time off page in their profile, a banner will show stating they are on long-term leave, and for how long.
