The Core HR module is our standard module to help you manage your HR.
It includes numerous features such as:
Online documents, including eSignature
Announcements
Asset management
Automated onboarding and offboarding
Who gets the Core HR module?
If you use Sage HR with no payroll integration, you always have the Core HR and Leave Management modules as standard.
If you use Sage HR Online Services (integrated with Sage 50 Payroll), you don't have Core HR and the other HR modules as standard until you subscribe to them. The only exception is if you're a Sage 50 Package customer, which includes the Core HR module includes as part of that package.
If you use Sage HR Essentials (Sage HR integrated with Sage 50 Payroll), you do have some features of the Core HR module such as documents, but you don't have the full Core HR module as standard until you subscribe to it.
How do I check if I have the Core HR module?
If you're unsure whether you have the Core HR module activated, it's easy to check
Check your main menu
The quickest way to tell that you have the Core HR module is by looking at your left-hand main menu in Sage HR.
By default, Core HR users have Announcements switched on, which therefore appears listed in the main menu. If you see this option, then you know you use the Core HR module.
📎NOTE: If you don't see this option, this doesn't necessarily mean you don't have the module. Some features can be switched off in settings by an admin. You can also check your Billing settings explained in the section below to confirm if you subscribe to the Core HR module.

📎NOTE: This applies to Sage HR with no payroll integration and Sage HR integrated with Sage 50 Payroll.
For Sage HR integrated with Sage Payroll, you can check this from the Manage Subscriptions tab within your Manage business account page.
Another way to check if you have the Core HR module is in the Billing settings.
Click on your name on the top right, then click Settings.
On the settings menu, click Billing.
Here you can see the Sage HR modules you currently subscribe to.
If you subscribe to the Core HR module, you will see CoreHR + Leave Management selected.
📎NOTE: If you are a Sage 50 Package customer, you have the Core HR module included in your package, which is why you will see Core HR by itself, unable to be deselected, and labeled 'Included as standard'.
