You enter your company information when you first set up Sage Business Cloud Payroll (Canada). You can also update your company information after you've set up your company. You may need to do this if you've changed your address or if you need to add information before completing a tax submission.
Making changes to your company information also updates the information that appears on invoices and statements that you send to your customers.
Add a new company
If you've already set up a company and need to add another one:
Log out of your existing company.
Complete the sign up process again. Enter a new company name, but use the same email address.
Once the sign up process is complete, to change companies:

If you've already set up your company and need to change some of the information:
From the company drop-down list, select Manage Companies.
Select the company you want to edit.
Select the type of information you want to edit, for example Contact Person Detail.
Enter the new information, then Save.
Where to find your statutory information
Name | This is your company name. It appears on your submissions and payslips. |
Trading Name | This is the official registered trading name for your company. It must match the name held by CRA so they can match your submissions correctly. |
CRA Payroll Number | The Payroll Account Number is given to you by Canada Revenue Agency. The format is a 9 digit business number followed by two letters for the type of account (RP for payroll) and 4 numbers for the specific account reference. Remittance Frequency | This is how often you submit your figures to CRA. |
Revenu Québec Payroll Number | This number is provided by Revenu Québec. If you don't already have one, or want more information, visit the Revenu Québec website |

Business Owner 1 SIN | The social insurance number of the primary business owner |
Business Owner 2 SIN | If relevant, the social insurance number of the secondary business owner |
T4 Transmitter Number | You need a T4 transmitter number to submit your T4 details on the internet. For more information, visit the CRA website |
RL-1 Transmitter Number | If you have employees based in Quebec, you need to submit an RL-1 form by the end of February each year. To do this with Sage Business Cloud Payroll, you must enter your RL-1 transmitter number here. |
Quebec Enterprise Number | This is a number to help identify companies that deal with public bodies and business partners in Québec. It's a 10 digit number you can get by registering with the Registraire des entreprises. |
Where to find your tax details
The tax details you need to provide vary depending on where your company is based. The options available in the Tax Details tab are generated from the Province you enter in the Address tab.

EI (Employer Portion) | If you have a specific reason for overriding the default Employment Insurance values used by Sage Business Cloud Payroll, you can change them here. We do not recommend changing either of these values unless advised to do so by CRA or Revenu Québec. |
EHT (Employer Health Tax) | If you're based in Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec or British Columbia, you need to set up an Employer Health Tax remittance. If you are unsure how to complete these options, you should contact your provincial governing body. |
Newfoundland and Labrador |

Newfoundland HAPSET | This is the health and post-secondary education tax. If your cumulative payroll exceeds $1.3 million, you must contribute to this payroll tax unless you are exempt from withholding. |
Québec |

Québec Health Services Fund | If your company is based in Québec, you may be subject to this tax. If you are unsure, you can find out more information on the Revenu Québec website |
