HMRC have issued guidance that between 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023, employee payslips should include a message to explain what funds from the NI increase are used for.

HMRC advise this message to say:

1.25% uplift in NICs, funds NHS, health & social care.

How to add this comment to payslips

In v28 of Sage 50cloud Payroll for the 2022/2023 tax year, payslips uploaded into Sage HR Online Services have been updated to automatically include any payslip comments which have been added to each employees’ record.

This message can easily be added to either individual employees, or to a group of employees on Sage 50cloud Payroll v28.
