An employee's email address is what they use to log in to Sage HR Online Services. When you view this in their profile it shows as a locked field.

If an employee has been set up with an incorrect email address, or they want to change it to a different email, they can't change it themselves. Only an admin user with access to Sage 50cloud Payroll can change this email address.

How you update the email address depends on what version your Sage HR Online Services is. Don't worry, we'll take you through this step-by-step on how to quickly check your version, then how to change the email address once you know.

📎NOTE: Sage HR support can't change the email address for you. If you are an employee user, you must contact the person who processes your payroll so they can follow the steps below to amend it for you.


How to update email address

How you update the email address for the employee depends on what version your Online Services is. Let's first confirm what version you are using:

  1. Click on your name in the top right, then click Settings.

  2. Click General on the settings menu.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom.

  4. Just below the Save button it tells you your Online Services Version.

    It will either say:

    • ESS Version: 2

    • ESS Version: 1
